The cashew nut product selected this time is one of 19 products (food groups) recognized by the Central Evaluation Council. OCOP 5 stars.
This is the first time Binh Phuoc province has a product recognized as OCOP 5 stars at the national level.

Binh Phuoc is currently the cashew "capital" of the country, accounting for more than 50% of area and more than 50% of Vietnam's cashew output. Binh Phuoc's cashew trees have been protected by the Department of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology) as geographical indications throughout the territory of Vietnam.
Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Binh Phuoc, said that currently the area of cashew trees in the province is nearly 152,000 hectares, yield is 1.15 tons/ha, output is 170,000 tons.
Binh Phuoc's cashew area accounts for more than 24% of agricultural land area, 34% of agricultural land area and 35% of perennial crop area of the entire province.
In Binh Phuoc, there are currently more than 1,400 cashew nut processing and trading establishments; Binh Phuoc's entire cashew industry creates jobs for about 50,000 workers. Each year the total value of Binh Phuoc's cashew industry reaches over 33,000 billion VND.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province, the total estimated added value of cashew trees, including the processing stage plus the amount of imported cashews, the cashew industry cluster is generating more than 10% GRDP for the whole province./.
