SARS-CoV-2 virus is not present in frozen products imported into Vietnam

Before that situation, Department of Animal Health (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) has immediately directed border animal quarantine agencies to organize sampling of imported frozen foods to test for SARS-CoV-2 virus.

As of August 21, 2020, border animal quarantine agencies under the Department of Animal Health have taken 171 samples of meat, poultry, seafood and frozen food packaging imported from 15 countries. (includes: Brazil, United States, Spain, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, France, Netherlands, Iceland, India, Japan, Korea, Poland and Norway).

All of these samples are tested at veterinary laboratories that have been certified by the Ministry of Health to be capable of testing for SARS-CoV-2 virus. Test results showed that all 171 food samples and food packaging tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 virus.

In the coming time, the Department of Animal Health will continue to closely monitor information and the COVID-19 epidemic situation and take samples to monitor the SARS-CoV 2 virus on imported frozen meat, poultry, and seafood products. password if necessary.
