The Korean President began his official visit to Vietnam

On the morning of June 22, Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife arrived at Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi), starting their first state visit to Vietnam.

At about 10:10 a.m. on June 22, the special plane "Code One" transported President of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol, his wife and a delegation of high-ranking Korean officials landed at Noi Bai airport.

Accompanying Korean officials include Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the Economy and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choo Kyung Ho, Foreign Minister Park Jin, Minister of Industry, Trade and Energy Lee Chang Yang, Minister of Labor and Employment Lee Jung Sik, Minister of Small and Medium Enterprises, Startup Lee Young.

Chief of the National Security Office, Office of the President Cho Tae Yong and a number of lawmakers, advisors, and senior secretaries of President Yoon also accompanied.

According to the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Korean President's visit took place at the invitation of Mr President Vo Van Thuong. The Korean leader will have 3 days in Vietnam, with a series of meetings.

The first official activities will take place tomorrow, June 23. After the welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace, President Vo Van Thuong and President Yoon will hold talks.

The two leaders will then witness the signing of a number of documents and meet with the press to announce the results of the meeting.

The Korean President will also meet with leaders of the Party, Government and National Assembly of Vietnam during his visit.

This is President Yoon's first visit to Vietnam in his new position. Vietnam is also the first country in Southeast Asia Mr. Yoon has been visiting since taking office.

Trade and investment are notable aspects of this Korean president's trip. He was accompanied by a delegation of 205 Korean businesses, including leaders of leading corporations such as Samsung, SK, Hyundai, and Daewoo.

According to Korean Ambassador Oh Young Ju, this is the largest number of businesses in President Yoon's recent foreign visits. This shows that the two countries' economic, investment and trade cooperation relations have been developing rapidly and impressively.

Bilateral trade turnover in 2022 will reach about 87 billion USD. The two countries set a goal of raising it to 100 billion USD this year and 150 billion USD by 2030.
