Procedures for destruction of cars and motorcycles of subjects entitled to privileges and immunities in Vietnam

– Pursuant to Articles 6 and 8 of Decision No. 53/2013/QD-TTg dated September 13, 2013 of the Prime Minister on temporary import, re-export, destruction and transfer of cars and vehicles. two-wheeled motorbikes of subjects enjoying privileges and immunities in Vietnam;

– Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 1 of Decision No. 10/2018/QD-TTg dated March 1, 2018 of the Prime Minister amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decision No. 53/2013/QD-TTg dated March 13, 2018 9/2013 of the TTCP on temporary import, re-export, destruction and transfer of cars and two-wheeled motorbikes of subjects enjoying privileges and immunities in Vietnam;

– Articles 3 and 8 of Circular No. 19/2014/TT-BTC dated February 11, 2014 of the Ministry of Finance regulating procedures for temporary import, re-export, destruction and transfer of cars and two-wheeled vehicles. Machines of subjects entitled to privileges and immunities in Vietnam.

Step 2: The Customs Department of the province or city where the temporary import permit for cars/motorbikes is issued is based on the destruction record (original) according to the regulations of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and compared with information related to the vehicle ( Temporary import certificate, temporary import declaration and the following conditions to liquidate the temporary import certificate for cars and motorbikes according to regulations:

– Subjects entitled to privileges and immunities in Vietnam do not need to use cars or motorbikes in use and wish to destroy them.

– Subjects are diplomatic officers, administrative and technical staff before the end of their working term in Vietnam.

– Cars and motorbikes that are involved in an accident, natural disaster or due to objective technical reasons cannot continue to be used and the subject does not re-export.
