Procedures for importing seafood and aquatic products

Imported aquatic products are used for breeding or other purposes

Organizations and individuals carrying out quarantine procedures for imported aquatic products used as breeds or for other purposes submit documents at the quarantine declaration unit.
Records include:
– Quarantine declaration form for exported and imported animals and aquatic animal products (Model number 03TS) according to Circular 26/2016/TT-BNNPTNT dated June 30, 2016, the circular regulating quarantine of aquatic animals and animal products;
– Document approving import quarantine from the Department of Animal Health (original)
– Aquatic quarantine certificate of the exporting country (original) with content consistent with shipment details (type, quantity, volume, size).

Seafood products

Organizations and individuals (referred to as goods owners) when importing animal products included in the List of aquatic animal products subject to quarantine must submit a quarantine registration dossier at the border gate quarantine unit under the Department of Health. Regional Veterinary Office VI.
Records include:
a) Quarantine declaration form (Model number 03TS, Appendix V of Circular 26/2016/TT-BNNPTNT, dated June 30, 2016);
b) Quarantine certificate of the exporting country;
c) Written approval for import quarantine from the Department of Animal Health (if any).
Within 0.5 working days from the date of receipt of valid documents, the Quarantine Unit confirms the quarantine declaration form for the goods owner to complete procedures with the Customs Authority.
In case the dossier is invalid, KDVDV is assigned to guide the goods owner to complete the dossier.

Seafood products imported from foreign fishing vessels

Organizations and individuals carrying out quarantine procedures to import aquatic animal products from foreign fishing vessels submit documents at the quarantine declaration unit.
Records include:
a) Quarantine declaration form (Model number 03TS Appendix V issued together with Circular No. 26/2016/TT-BNNPTNT, dated June 30, 2016);
b) A copy of the CITES License certified by the enterprise for aquatic animals and animal products included in the List of endangered, precious and rare wild animals and plants according to the provisions of Vietnamese law or CITES regulations);
Within 0.5 working days from the date of receipt of valid documents, the Quarantine Unit confirms the quarantine declaration form for the goods owner to complete procedures with the Customs Authority.
In case the dossier is invalid, KDVDV is assigned to guide the goods owner to complete the dossier.

Procedures for exporting animals and aquatic animal products are implemented according to Circular No 26/2016/BNNPTNT dated June 30, 2016
