The Ministry of Transport has approved the plan to organize traffic on the Phan Thiet-Dau Giay expressway so that vehicles can circulate immediately after the inauguration ceremony held on April 29.
In the immediate future, the project will put into operation 3/7 intersections, including the intersection with Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway, the intersection with National Highway 1A in Xuan Loc district, Dong Nai province and the intersection with Ba Ba road. Bau is adjacent to National Highway 1A in Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan province.
Vehicles that fully meet road traffic conditions are allowed to circulate on highways, except for objects such as specialized motorbikes with a design speed of less than 70km/h; motorbikes, two-wheeled motorbikes; tractors, three-wheeled motorbikes, mopeds (including electric motorbikes) and similar vehicles.
It is planned to arrange a rest stop at Km47+500 in Binh Thuan province (arranged on both sides of the highway). The Ministry of Transport has cleared the site and is implementing investor selection procedures according to regulations. Investors spend their own money to invest, build, and manage the rest stop business in accordance with the law.
The circulating speed allows vehicles to participate in traffic on the highway with a maximum speed of 120km/h and a minimum speed of 60km/h. Cross section of 4 two-way traffic lanes and 2 emergency stopping lanes.
Once completed, the project will shorten the journey from Ho Chi Minh City to tourist centers and open up investment opportunities in the South Central region; overcome traffic congestion and reduce traffic accidents that frequently occur on National Highway 1A; solving the needs of passenger and goods transportation between the central hub area of the southern key economic region with the Southeast region and the South Central Coast; as well as from North to South.
