Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (VN-EAEU FTA)

The free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union (including: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan) was launched by the two Parties in March 2013. After 2 years of negotiations with 8 official session and many mid-term sessions, on May 29, 2015, the Prime Ministers of the countries officially signed this Agreement in Burabay, Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam has issued a document announcing that the two sides have completed ratification procedures and the FTA between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union will officially take effect from October 5, 2016.

After taking effect, the two sides will establish a Joint Committee, Committee on Trade in Goods, and Subcommittee on Rules of Origin to coordinate effective implementation and monitor the implementation of the agreement.
