In 2023, the total area of lychee in Bac Giang province is 29,700 hectares (an increase of 1,400 hectares compared to 2022), the output is estimated to reach over 180,000 tons; Tan Yen district alone has an area of 1,340 hectares, with an estimated output of 17,000 tons; Luc Ngan district has an area of 17,357 hectares and an estimated output of over 98,000 tons.

Of these, early ripe lychee is 7,700 hectares, with an estimated output of 57,000 tons; The main litchi crop area is 22,000 hectares, with an estimated output of over 120,000 tons. Safe fabric according to VietGAP standards is 15,600 hectares, output is about 113,800 tons; Lychee produced according to GlobalGAP standards is 82 hectares, with an estimated output of 1,000 tons.

Bac Giang lychee harvest time is from May 25 to July 30, of which early lychee is from May 25 to June 15, main lychee is from June 10 to July 30.

To date, the entire Bac Giang province maintains 178 lychee growing area codes eligible for production for export, with an area of 16,694.9 hectares. At the same time, the province is completing documents to request the Plant Protection Department to issue 45 additional planting area codes, with an area of 460 hectares, bringing the total number of production areas in 2023 to 223 planting areas, an area of 17,154.9 hectares; Output is estimated at over 115,000 tons for export.

To date, the entire Bac Giang province maintains 215 establishments qualified to pack fresh lychees for export./.
