The Vietnam - UK Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA) officially completed negotiations on December 11, 2020 and signed on the evening of December 29, 2020. The Agreement was negotiated and completed based on the commitments agreed in the Vietnam - European Union Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), with a number of additional adjustments suitable to trade relations. Bilateral trade between Vietnam and the UK.
Accordingly, the Agreement includes 9 articles; 01 Appendix amending some articles of the EVFTA text; 01 bilateral letter exchanged between Vietnam and UK; 01 Protocol on rules of origin and Explanatory Notes.
The Agreement took temporary effect from 11pm on December 31, 2020 (ie 6am on January 1, 2021 Vietnam time), and officially took effect from May 1, 2021.
