(HNM) \u2013 The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the Ministry and the General Department of Customs of China have signed a Protocol on plant quarantine requirements for fresh bananas exported from Vietnam to China. Accordingly, the Protocol will be effective for 5 years.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, all banana growing areas and packaging facilities exported to China must be registered with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and approved by both the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the General Department of Customs of China. Registration information includes name, address and code so that when any product is found to not comply with the requirements of the Protocol, the origin can be accurately traced.<\/p>\n

To date, 11 types of Vietnamese fruits are officially exported to China including: dragon fruit, watermelon, lychee, longan, banana, mango, jackfruit, rambutan, mangosteen, passion fruit, and durian. Among them, Vietnam and China have signed four protocols on exporting to China mangosteen, durian, passion fruit and bananas.
