Mr. Duong Van Bao has nearly 2 hectares of land growing lychees in village 2, Ea Sar commune, Ea Kar and is harvesting the last batch of this year. His family's lychee garden is full of fruit this year, the red berries on the branches are extremely eye-catching.<\/p>\n

"The people here's techniques for growing and caring for lychees have gone through 20 years of bitterness and sweetness. The locality established a collective brand, so that the Ea Kar lychee brand could advance further in the market, making our farmers even more excited," Mr. Bao confidently said.<\/p>\n

According to the head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ea Kar district, the lychee tree has been with farmers in Dak Lak for quite a long time, but it was not until 2013 that it was developed and replicated. Lychee is quite suitable for the soil and weather, so it ripens about 20-30 days earlier than the harvest in the Northern provinces.<\/p>\n

"With that advantage, plus guaranteed quality, sweet and sour taste, it has come to many supermarkets and wholesale markets across the country. In particular, fabrics branded Ea Kar, Dak Lak have been exported to foreign markets such as China and Japan," Mr. Dong said.<\/p>\n

Mr. Dong said that with the desire to "identify" the name, the district has also created a file to register a collective trademark for Ea Kar lychee. The application has been accepted by the Department of Intellectual Property - Ministry of Science and Technology as valid and is awaiting approval.<\/p>\n

"This is a very good step for the locality to continue expanding the model of growing high-quality lychees, solving the problems of fragmented production, not being able to apply science and technology, water resources...", Mr. Dong hoped. hope.<\/p>\n

According to Mr. Dong, in the district there is an agricultural cooperative and two cooperative groups specializing in lychee production. Of the total 1,200 hectares of lychee, the locality has established a production area according to VietGAP process and been certified with a scale of 78.5 hectares, with four planting area codes with an area of 48.5 hectares.<\/p>\n

The district is also aiming to develop 2,000 hectares, transferring technical advances to lychee growers. In addition to developing collective brands, the district will build stamps and labels to trace product origin.
